We open on a young boy in a tavern. The boy looks to be about ten years old, blond hair, and a dragon claw sword on his back. He’s hearing stories of these villains called the 7 deadly sins and how one of them in rusted armor is roaming the land. Then enters the villain in rusted armor. As the villain falls to the ground, the armor falls off and inside is a young girl. It is discovered that she is looking for the villains the 7 deadly sins and that the young boy is their leader, and the most dangerous of them all. Sounds like a nice fairytale right? Well it’s an anime. The Seven Deadly Sins are a Netflix exclusive and awesome to the core. Filled with great characters and development, tons of laughs, and the battles are filled with epic power and innuendo. The Seven Deadly Sins come from myth and legend, giving old stories a new life and from a different point of view. So go watch this now and be amazed. It leaves you wanting more, and soon there will be. Season two is coming!!!

Meliodas (メリオダス, Meriodasu)
Voiced by: Yūki Kaji (Japanese); Bryce Papenbrook (English)
The Dragon Sin of wrath and the captain of the Seven Deadly Sins. Meliodas is the main hero and owns the the Boar Hat (豚の帽子亭) bar. Known for its rare and exquisite ale, the Boar Hat rests upon the back of a giant pig and travels the country. Meliodas, while bearing the appearance of a child, is actually very powerful and is much older than he appears. Although he is the Sin of Wrath, he is slow to anger, and is playful, perverted, bold, and kind.
Elizabeth Liones (エリザベス・リオネス, Erizabesu Rionesu)
Voiced by: Sora Amamiya (Japanese); Erika Harlacher (English)
Princess of the Kingdom of Liones who is searching for the Seven Deadly Sins in order to recruit them to fight against the Holy Knights. She the main female protagonist in the series and becomes a waitress at the Boar Hat bar after Meliodas saves her life. She is kind to a fault, timid, and and the beginning of the series, easily overwhelmed. Elizabeth is devoted to saving the lives of the subjects in her kingdom, even if it means her own life.
Hawk (ホーク, Hōku)

Meliodas’s companion, a talking pig, is the comedic relief of the series. He is introduced as the cleaner of the Boar Hat bar who eats all of the disgusting food scraps. The balance of maturity is maintained by Hawk, who scolds Meliodas for his acts of perversion. The fact that he is a talking pig is joked at throughout the series.
Ban (バン, Băn)
Voiced by: Tatsuhisa Suzuki (Japanese); Ben Diskin (English)
The Fox Sin of Greed. Known as the “undead”, Ban is immortal. He’s violent and viscous, yet laid back, and seems to only care for his fellow sins, his lover, Elaine, Hawk, and Elizabeth. In spite of being the sin of “greed”, he does have a deeply caring heart. His fears of losing those he cares about are his only greedy emotions illustrated. He also seems to be a masochist and is driven by challenges. He is in love with King’s sister, Elaine.
Diane (ディアンヌ, Diannu)
Voiced by: Aoi Yūki (Japanese); Erica Mendez (English)
The Serpent Sin of Envy. She is a giant with giant strength and a mysterious power over the earth. She is bold, short tempered, and will do anything to protect an innocent life. She is secretly in love with the captain, Meliodas, and is easily made jealous by any woman who shows interest in him. Although she quickly develops deep cares for Elizabeth, Diane is jealous of Meliodas’ affection toward Elizabeth instead of her.
King/Harlequin (キング ／ ハーレクイン, Kingu / Hārekuin)

The Grizzly Sin of Sloth. His true name is Harlequin. He is the fairy king, and was once the protector of the fairy forest and fountain of youth that is located inside. King is gentle, respectful, empathetic but fierce when pushed too far. He is “secretly” in love with Diane.
Merlin (マーリン, Mārin)
Voiced by: Maaya Sakamoto (Japanese); Lauren Landa (English)
The Boar Sin of Gluttony. She is a mage who displays a mocking and overly confident nature. Merlin is referred to as the greatest mage in all of Britannia.
Gowther (ゴウセル, Gōzer)
Voiced by: Yūhei Takagi (Japanese); Erik Scott Kimerer (English)
The Goat Sin of Lust. He is a bit of a sociopath and has little or no concept of typical social interaction or emotions. However, he seems to try his best to learn and understand. He is observant, nonchalant, and driven by a strong sense of logic. He is known to state observed or obvious facts and information without tact or consideration of others’ feelings.
